In terms of flavored stogies, vanilla cigars are one of my favorites.
The balance of sweet, creamy vanilla bean and rich tobacco is a match made in heaven – and is definitely worth trying if you haven’t gotten around to it.
CAO Bella Vanilla
Tatiana Lavita Vanilla
Havana Honeys Dominican del Sol Vanilla
My favorite vanilla cigar is the Tatiana Lavita Vanilla. It’s a beautifully constructed smoke that punches well above its price point – and definitely a great jumping-off point if you’ve never tried a vanilla cigar before.
Similarly, the CAO Bella Vanilla brings a natural-tasting vanilla undercurrent to premium Dominican tobacco for a mellow, sweet smoke that doesn’t compromise on quality.
If you’re looking for something that’s a little more overt in its sweetness, check out the Havana Honeys Dominican del Sol Vanilla. It’s a marriage of vanilla and honey that will appeal to those looking for a sweet treat after dinner that won’t make you feel like you’re cheating on your diet.
I’ve tried to include something for all tastes and budgets here – so read on to find the best vanilla cigar for you.

Combining rich tobacco taste and natural-tasting vanilla flavor, Tatian Lavita Vanillas pair beautifully with a lightly spiced rum in the evening.
I recently took a box away with me on a hunting retreat with my buddies – and needless to say, I didn’t bring any home with me. The boys got hooked, and they don’t usually go in for flavored cigars at all.
I’ve bought half a dozen boxes by now, and I’ve never come across any that have gotten dried out or hard during storage or shipping. That’s a level of consistency that most brands in the price bracket can only dream of.
Titans are particularly beautiful if you can wait and let them sit in your humidor for a month. Be patient, and you’ll be rewarded with a slice of heaven.

CAO Bella Vanilla – Best Mild Vanilla Cigar
This mild vanilla cigar for CAO is a slightly sweet treat perfect for everyday smoking.

As soon as you put the Bella Vanilla to your lips, you can taste traces of vanilla on the wrapper. It’s a sweet, natural-tasting sense that persists throughout the lifetime of the smoke, mingling with a blend of mellow tobacco to deliver a beautifully balanced palate.
It has a great burn and light draw, with no harshness or bitterness here – even right down by the nub.
Even my wife – who normally can’t stand me smoking near her – likes the smell of these cigars. So that’s certainly a positive in my book.

Havana Honeys Dominican del Sol Vanilla – Best Honey Vanilla Cigar
These affordable cigars are made with premium Dominican long-filler tobacco and are perfect for gents with a sweet tooth.

They have a sweet honey undercurrent, with a streak of vanilla that balances the palate out. The original Havana flavor is straight honey, but I prefer this vanilla variant – it feels a little more mature and sophisticated.
The silky Indonesian wrappers are smooth and well constructed and contribute to an excellent, razor-sharp burn across the whole 35-minute smoke.
Every now and then I will have some that are a little hard to draw, but I can live with that. I’m talking 1 in 20 or so, and it’s nothing a decent pinch and roll can’t fix.

Garcia y Vega Game Palama Vanilla – Best Budget Vanilla Cigar
I normally avoid machine-made cigars, but Gracie y Vega Game Palma Vanillas are an exception I’m more than happy to make. These sweet, everyday smokes have construction and draw on par with hand-rolled stogies, so give them a chance!
- Best Price: Check Famous Smoke Shop Here
These smokes have a lovely vanilla undercurrent with a light sweetness that makes them perfect for an after-dinner treat.
And at just $1 for an hour’s worth of smoking, they’re irresistibly priced – that’s the same price as a Black and Mild, for goodness sake. I’d easily pay 4 times as much for these smokes.
I handed out a bunch of these at a party a few months back and everybody loved them. So you get to look like a generous guy who is dishing out expensive stogies, but in reality, you’ve only spent about $20.
The only reservation I have about these Gracie y Vega smokes is that maybe one in twenty burns a little unevenly, which could throw a beginner off. But at this price point, I really can’t complain about that – Palma Vanillas are generally very consistent.

Principe Masters Palmas Vanilla – Best Vanilla Cigar for Beginners
Principes are smooth from start to finish and perfect for a casual smoke on a lunch break with a coffee.

The vanilla aspect is a perfectly weighted undercurrent that never feels overpowering. It’s more of a faint hint of sweetness than a flavoring that is going to blow anyone’s head off.
I love the fact that these sticks come individually sealed in foil packaging – it makes for a consistently fresh smoke that is very travel-friendly.
Palmas Vanillas would be beginner-friendly recommendations if we were just talking about the flavor palate, but there are a couple of structural considerations that make me hesitate.
Firstly, while these smokes are generally consistent across the board, the end does occasionally get a little plugged up, causing a harder draw. You might have to give it a bit of a squeeze and roll so it comes loose, which is something regular smokers will find easier.
Also, these smokes come pre-cut, so some of the tobacco from the tip can start to loosen up and end up in your mouth if you aren’t careful or experienced.
That said, if you can live with a little bit of care and attention as you smoke, Principe Master Palmas Vanillas are delicious stogies that are convenient for keeping fresh on road trips.

Avanti Vanilla – Best Gas Station Vanilla Cigars
These machine-made cigars combine fire-cured Kentucky tobacco with sweet and creamy vanilla for a delicious (and affordable) 30-minute smoke.
- Best Price: Check Famous Smoke Shop Here
I find the burn can be a little uneven, but for the price, it’s not that big a deal. This is a gas station, pocket change cigar. It is what it is.
The flavor is what’s important here. I love the interplay between the vanilla and the cured tobacco – it’s a real match made in heaven, with just the right amount of vanilla flavor. I love pulling out one of these and relaxing on my lunch break, it’s a real treat in my day.
All Avanti Kentucky/ Tennessee tobacco is aged for at least two years, before being dry-cured using hickory and oak. This process allows the sugars of the leaf to ferment naturally, producing a characteristic light sweetness that I’ve been unable to find elsewhere.
They don’t use any artificial binders, and when the cigars are rolled, they’re left to age for at least a month. If you spot these smokes in your local gas station, do yourself a favor and give them a try.
