Burberry Weekend is the perfect scent for a lazy spring or summer Sunday. This fresh, floral, and juicy fragrance is great for casual walks around the city, or for low-key coffee shop hangs.
Good warm weather fragrances that can keep their scent for a while are hard to come by. Most overdo the sweetness to compensate, but Burberry Weekend mercifully avoids that. For the price, there are few summer fragrances that last as long without feeling overpowering.
The name might make you think of party playboys, but the truth is that Burberry’s Weekend smells like one of the most chilled-out Gents you know.
Occasion: Chilling out on the weekend | Longevity: 7 hours |
Age group: 30 – 45 | Performance: Strong |
Season: Year-round | Value for money: 4.5/5 |
What Does Burberry Weekend Smell Like?
This relaxed, fresh cologne is packed full of citrus notes in the top end, with a bergamot opening that feels professional and light.
In the heart, Burberry Weekend has a green streak that feels energizing without being too bright. It smells like the forest floor, with ivy and fern center stage. It brings freshness in a breezy, natural-smelling way, not in the soapy barbershop style.
The ivy melds with citrus beautifully. It’s not a fragrance that replaces notes; they combine and stack throughout the scent’s lifetime to create something that smells unique without feeling too “out there”.
Orange, pineapple, lemon, and grapefruit combine with amber sweetness in a blend that is perfect for a city gent in spring. It’s so relaxing it’s almost therapeutic.
Top Notes: | Lemon, Grapefruit, Bergamot, Pineapple, Mandarin Orange and Melon |
Middle Notes: | Ivy, Oakmoss and Sandalwood |
Base Notes: | Honey, Musk and Amber |
Designer: | Michel Almairac |
Year launched | 1997 |
How Long Does Burberry Weekend Last?
Burberry Weekend lasts for 7 hours overall. The citrus opening projects a nice arms-length scent bubble for the first 2 – 3 hours, while the greener sense lingers on more intimately for the remainder.
For the price, you can’t really ask for much more – particularly from a warm-weather cologne.
This is not the sort of fragrance that is going to turn heads when you enter a room, but it will pick me up compliments if I brush by someone. It’s an easy-Sunday cologne that doesn’t feel the need to shout too loudly.
Is Burberry Weekend Worth it?
Weekend stands out compared to other Burberry fragrances, with a unique ivy and citrus combo that is a unique take on summer freshness.
If I was to make one tweak, it would be that it could differentiate itself from citrus summer fragrances entirely by swapping out the bright bergamot for some mint, for example.
By leaning into Weekend’s green profile in that way, I think you’d move from a solid 7 to an 8 or 9.
That said, for the price Burberry weekend is a very competent fresh fragrance. If you spray this after you get out of the shower, you’ll keep that fresh and clean feeling with you all day – and that’s got to be considered a success for such an economical fragrance.

Burberry Touch – Better for the Office
Burberry Touch is my favorite Burberry cologne overall, and it shares the same sense of feeling fresh and clean for a very reasonable price.
Occasion: Feeling fresh at the office | Longevity: 10 hours |
Age group: 23 – 40 | Performance: Light |
Season: Year-round | Value for money: 5/5 |
Like Weekend, Burberry Touch is not your generic citrus freshie. There’s juicy mandarin and a snap of white pepper in the top notes, followed by a bright heart of nutmeg and violet.
The floral elements are tastefully done and definitely point towards sophistication rather than femininity. In the base, there are more masculine accords of cedarwood and musk that combine in rich creaminess.
Perfect for retaining a fresh and clean feeling in the office.
Longevity is excellent at over 10 hours. Plenty to cover you for a full working day.
It makes me think of a handsome, hypnotic gent with a brooding persona and perhaps a chequered past. Inviting, but somewhat mysterious at the same time.
Longevity is amazing for me at over 10 hours, which is plenty to cover you for a working day. Touch is particularly good for office environments, with a subtle projection that won’t dominate the space when you walk into a room.
Top Notes: | Violet Leaf, Artemisia and Mandarin Orange |
Middle Notes: | White Pepper, Cedar and Nutmeg |
Base Notes: | White Musk, Tonka Bean and Vetiver |
Designer: | Jean-Pierre Bethouart |
Year Launched: | 2000 |
CK One Summer Calvin Klein – Better for Hot Days
My first reaction when trying Burberry Weekend was “wow, this smells like CK One Summer”.
It has that similar energizing freshness without being too sweet, and while CK One Summer is probably better suited to beach bars than the local coffee shop, the effect is very similar.
Occasion: Kicking it by the beach | Longevity: 4 – 5 hours |
Age group: 18 – 35 | Projection: Light |
Season: Summer | Value for money: 4/5 |
It’s more fruity than the greenery in Burberry Weekend, but because CK One Summer is first and foremost aquatic, the fruits come off as more watery and juicy than aggressively sweet – like taking a bite of watermelon.
With 4 – 5 hours of longevity, this Calvin Klein cologne doesn’t quite stick around as long as Burberry weekend – but it does have more of a breezy feel that I would prefer on really hot days.
Top Notes: | Watery Notes, Lemon and Grapefruit |
Middle Notes: | Rhubarb, Watermelon, and Eucalyptus |
Base Notes: | White Woods, Ambroxan, and Peach |
Where to Buy Burberry Weekend Online
The best place to buy Burberry Weekend online is through Amazon. They have the best prices, and regularly run promotions that make their colognes even cheaper.
Prime shipping also means you can have your colognes within a day or two, and with multiple vendors on the platform, you’re very unlikely to have any annoying “out of stock” issues.
While Amazon tends to have great stock on the most popular bottle sizes, if you want to maximize your range you can also check out FragranceX. They tend to offer smaller bottles and tester sizes, but just be aware that you’ll pay a few dollars extra for the privilege.
Consider a Decant From MicroPerfumes.com
If you’re not sure you’re ready to pull the trigger on a full bottle of Burberry Weekend, you could always try a decant from Microperfumes.
The most affordable place to try genuine samples of designer colognes - starting at 99 cents.
A huge range of the most popular colognes, with quick and easy shipping options.
They sell 2ml vials of colognes for a couple of dollars, so it’s a great way to try several fragrances affordably before you commit to your favorite.
