It’s for the man who isn’t “on his way” – he’s already arrived, sat on the brown leather couches of the exclusive lounge in the city. Antiques litter the scene, while a single malt is held deftly in hand.
Basically, London smells like something that might cost $100, but for far less. This is a really safe buy.
Elegant and complex, but still inherently comfortable, Burberry London is equally wearable for a casual stroll in the park as dressing to impress.

2. Burberry Touch – Best for Any Occasion
Perfect for retaining a fresh and clean feeling in the office.
Longevity is excellent at over 10 hours. Plenty to cover you for a full working day.
Burberry Touch is the first scent that really opened my eyes to how fragrance can affect how you feel about yourself.

Occasion: Feeling fresh at the office | Longevity: 10 hours |

It makes me think of a handsome, hypnotic gent with a brooding persona and perhaps a chequered past. Inviting, but somewhat mysterious at the same time.
The main sense I get is a clean feeling all day. It makes me feel fresh, but there’s also enough going on that I can show a bit of personality.
There’s a snap of white pepper in the top notes, followed by a bright heart of nutmeg, violet, and succulent mandarin. Touch is not your generic citrus freshie, but it does still feel a little juicy. The floral elements are tastefully done and definitely point towards sophistication rather than femininity.
In the base, there are more masculine accords of cedarwood and musk that combine in rich creaminess.
Longevity is amazing for me at over 10 hours, which is plenty to cover you for a working day. Touch is particularly good for office environments, with a subtle projection that won’t dominate the space when you walk into a room.
I think they should pump it directly into the AC of most office blocks to improve morale, but I am yet to hear back from the guys at Burberry about that particular plan.
1 – 2 spritzes in the morning are enough, so a bottle of Burberry Touch will serve you a long time.

3. Brit – Best for Classy Romance
This powdery, spicy fragrance smells simultaneously classy and edgy.
Upbeat and fresh with bright ginger, warm cardamom, and aromatic nutmeg.
Brit EDT by Burberry | Rating |

Occasion: A romantic stroll through the city | Longevity: 8 hours |
Age group: 25 – 40 | Performance: Moderate |
Season: Winter | Value for money: 4.5/5 |
Brit makes me think of Sherlock Holmes, but if the book version were brought into the present, perfect manners and all.
Brit stands out from most men’s fragrances, flipping a key rose note on its head and managing to present it as fundamentally masculine. This powdery, spicy fragrance smells simultaneously classy and edgy.
It’s a beautiful expression that would suit a sophisticated romantic, roving the streets for his love on a morose winter’s day.
The spice comes from bright ginger, warm cardamom, and aromatic nutmeg, but it’s not a heavy, Christmas spice. In fact, it feels upbeat and fresh, almost like a modernized Old Spice.
The addition of greener notes in the dry down help to enforce the outdoor, rose garden sense, with the cedar base adding a necessary streak of vitality to keep Burberry Brit feeling potent.
Brit lasts for about 8 hours, with a moderate to light projection that will be detected by others from around 1 meter away. A low profile, but enough to pick up compliments from those standing next to you in my experience.

4. Weekend for Men – Best for a Casual Sunday

Occasion: Chilling out on the weekend | Longevity: 7 hours |
Age group: 30 – 45 | Performance: Strong |
Season: Year-round | Value for money: 4.5/5 |
The name might make you think of party playboys, but the truth is that Burberry’s Weekend smells like one of the most chilled-out Gents you know.
This relaxed, fresh cologne is packed full of citrus notes in the top end, with a bergamot core that feels professional and light.
Orange, pineapple, lemon, and grapefruit combine with amber sweetness in a blend that is perfect for a city gent in spring. It’s so relaxing it’s almost therapeutic, and Weekend will tend to pick me up 1 – 2 compliments if I wear it while I’m running errands.
While not the fragrance for a weekend warrior, it is the sort of scent I’d choose to wear for myself if I’m staying in to watch a movie and unwind, for example.
I’ve got 3 fresh genre Creed fragrances in my collection and Burberry Weekend stacks up on many levels, for far less.
If you spray this after you get out of the shower, you’ll keep that fresh and clean feeling with you all day.

5. Mr. Burberry EDT – Best for a Classic Gentleman
Mr Burberry by Burberry | Ranking |
---|---|
Occasion: Outdoor excursions in warmer weather | Longevity: 6 hours |
Age group: 22 – 35 | Performance: Light |
Season: Spring/Summer | Value for money: 4/5 |
Mr. Burberry is a pretty unique Burberry cologne in the sense that you could get away with it in warmer weather without it becoming too overwhelming or heady. It reminds me of an English coastal breeze, refreshingly aquatic with clean herbal accords and freshness from one of the main notes, spearmint.
It’s simultaneously upbeat and calming, combining lively green notes with warm amber and soothing British tea.
It feels green in sort of the same way that Green Irish Tweed feels garden-fresh and slightly earthy, and the ingredients feel similarly high quality. In fact, if you told me this was a new release from Creed, I’d believe you.
The opening might be a little bit harsh but after 5 minutes the spearmint starts to mellow out into a cleaner herbal scent that feels light and incredibly wearable. I detect a decent-sized sprig of rosemary in the mid-notes, which is a pretty underrepresented accord that I appreciate.
Overall this is a well-crafted, quintessentially British cologne perfect for spring/summer walks that goes beyond generic citrus aquatics. Definitely one to try out.

6. Burberry Men – Best for Maturity
Burberry Classic for Men | Ranking |
---|---|
Occasion: Unpretentious sophistication | Longevity: 5 hours |
Age group: 28 – 50 | Performance: Moderate |
Season: Year-round | Value for money: 4/5 |
Burberry Men (often referred to as Burberry Classic) is an unpretentious and confident cologne that emphasizes traditionally masculine accords.
It’s for the type of Gent who wears a bespoke suit as though he was born in it, offering understated sophistication in a way that feels natural and timeless.
The overriding sense here is full-bodied woodiness from cedar and sandalwood, but it’s helped along by herbal and floral inflections of lavender, mint, thyme, and jasmine.
They’re neat sparkles of life that add some nuance to Burberry Men, making the cologne feel more expensive than it truly is.
A softer base brings in the creaminess of amber and vanilla, rounding out the scent with a gourmand warmth that smells good enough to eat.
Classy women seem to really appreciate this fragrance. I guess it just smells like you’ve got everything together. It has an unquestionably English sanguine sense, and I think it’s sort of underrated as a low-key seductive fragrance.

7. Brit Rhythm Intense- Best Vanilla Burberry Fragrance for Men
Occasion: Coziness on a rainy day | Longevity: 4 – 5 hours |
Age group: 25 – 40 | Performance: Strong |
Season: Fall/Winter | Value for money: 4/5 |
Rhythm Intense is my go-to Burberry fragrance on gloomy, rainy days.
My girlfriend loves this stuff. She thinks it’s modern enough that it doesn’t feel out of place on a younger man like me, but is still attractive in a masculine, gentlemanly sort of way.
The fig note really stands out against the warmer dry down and adds some nice contrast to the relative safety of gourmand vanilla and rich sandalwood. Even though leather is listed as the primary note on the packaging, it feels to me like the vanilla is far more prominent. At least, that’s what I would have guessed on a blind scent test.
Longevity isn’t great, so I tend to do a little overspray to make sure I can be detected for the whole day. That said, while Brit Rhythm Intense is around, it does kick out pretty well (at least 2 – 3 meters).
I wore this on my way to work in London and with all the body heat on the underground, I basically filled the carriage with my fragrance.
In cold weather, you can go a little heavier on the atomizer, but this cologne will dominate warm, enclosed spaces.

8. Hero – Best Woody Fragrance from Burberry
For Burberry Hero, the keyword is woody. This fresh and clean scent has an “old soul in a young body” and would suit a mid-thirties professional with a bit of attitude. It’s the one you’d pick out for your “cool boss”, for sure.
Hero EDT by Burberry | Rating |
---|---|
Occasion: Confidence at work | Longevity: 6 hours |
Age group: 35 – 55 | Performance: Moderate |
Season: Year-round | Value for money: 3.5/5 |
This modern and fresh cologne is relatively sweet but perfectly office safe. It’s woodsy sweetness rather than candy sweetness. There’s also a strong bergamot sense running throughout the dry down that conjures a powdery effect by the time you reach a base packed with 3 different types of cedar.
The sillage here is subtle, which I personally think is a good thing. It projects about 2-3 feet, which makes it perfect for the office or environments where you want to smell classy but don’t need to be the star of the show.
The best way to describe the scent would be clean, serious, and professional. To put it another way, this cologne is very unlikely to offend anyone.
Longevity, however, leaves something to be desired. I got about six hours before it disappeared completely, and that was with three sprays.
If it had more staying power, I’d say that it would have the potential to be a modern classic.

What to Look for When Choosing From the Best Burberry Colognes
What makes Burberry cologne different?
Burberry is famous. Whether you hear the name, see the bottle, or recognize the fragrance, the Burberry brand instantly creates a luxurious and sophisticated image. The undeniable quality in every bottle is nothing short of what you would expect from a product in the Burberry name.
What should I expect from a Burberry scent?
Unlike some fragrances of inferior quality, they make the Burberry scents with an accurate balance of alcohol and true perfume essence.
Though they come with the cologne label, Burberry’s men’s fragrances are really Eau de Toilette. This is important because, for every kind of fragrance, there is a unique ratio of alcohol to perfume essence, which determines the staying power of that fragrance.
For example, an Eau de Toilette only has around 5% to 15% of pure perfume in a mixture of alcohol, so its staying power is only about 3 to 4 hours. Some of the Eau de Toilettes from Burberry can last the whole day.
Where is the best place to wear a Burberry fragrance?
It is important to know when or where you will wear your cologne in order to make the right choice.
For instance, men who want a workplace cologne to give them a feeling of power, confidence, and ambition should look for something with good projection and a bold note profile like Burberry London. Parties, dates, and events are will demand a similar approach
Conversely, if you are in professional environments or public places most of the time, then a milder, fresher, and more gentle Burberry cologne like Burberry Touch will always be more appropriate and less offensive to the sensitivities of people around.
Are Burberry Fragrances Classic or Modern?
Many would make a very convincing argument that one of Burberry’s strengths is its ability to bridge the gap between what is old and what is new, the classic and the modern, the vintage and the Avant-Garde.
However, it is difficult to deny that some of the most famous colognes from Burberry are more modern and forward-looking than others. This is an indicator that while some are better for a younger and more dynamic demographic, others are better suited for more noble gentlemen.
