Versace is internationally known for elegant and luxurious clothing, accessories, fragrances, make-up, and home furnishings.
As a friend to celebrities such as Eric Clapton, Madonna, Elton John, and Tupac Shakur, creator Gianni Versace was the first to link fashion to the world of music.
However, you don’t have to be a super-wealthy or elite individual to have the class, the look, or feel your best when you settle on the best Versace cologne that suits you.

Versace Eros is a modern classic that is a hit with the ladies. It’s a fruity-sweet and woodsy scent for Gents in their 20s or 30s looking to impress on a night out. Eros is the most popular Versace cologne for a reason – everyone should try it at least once.
If you’re looking for something fresh and light for summer, check out Eau Fraiche for classy, breezy citrus. On the other hand, darker, colder nights will demand something thicker – I recommend the mature woodiness of Oud Noir.

Versace Eros – Most Popular Versace Cologne
If you’re a Gent in your twenties, it’s pretty much mandatory to have a bottle of Versace Eros in your rotation.
A vibrant, youthful party-banger cologne that women can't resist.
Masculine woodiness in the base (cedar) paired with sweet fruits and mint.
Beast mode performance- will last a full 8-hour day with no problems.
Versace Eros is a masculine club-banger, all about youthful exuberance. It’s a mass-appeal fragrance that is pretty much guaranteed to pick up compliments from girls.
Occasion: Getting noticed at the club | Longevity: 8 hours |
Age group: 18 – 35 | Performance: Strong |
Season: Year-round | Value for Money: 5/5 |
Perfectly balanced woods and fruits combine in a sensual fragrance that is creamy, rich, and perfectly sweet. Bright notes of green apple and Italian lemon zest are paired against tonka bean and vanilla to remarkable effect here.

There are also fresh notes from a spearmint accord that adds a bit of greenery to an otherwise fairly gourmand palate. To my nose, the result is similar to a luxury mint ice cream. Top-tier.
In my experience, you should get a decent fragrance bubble of a couple of meters for your first 3 hours after application. Beyond that, you’ll have intimate levels of projection for the remainder of the 8-hour ride.
Versace Eros can be judged in two ways. Firstly, the fragrance itself. I find the blend of vanilla and freshness evocative and exciting and would give it a solid 9/10 for a cologne of this price point.
But more importantly, you judge a cologne on its results. Why are you wearing a cologne called Eros? You want to attract girls, and Versace will certainly do that for you.
Top Notes: | Mint, Green Apple and Lemon |
Heart Notes: | Tonka Bean, Ambroxan and Geranium |
Base Notes: | Vanilla, Virginian Cedar, Atlas Cedar, Vetiver and Oakmoss |
Versace Blue Jeans – Best Budget Versace Cologne
Compared to other Versace colognes, Blue Jeans is pretty complex. It presents subtle floral freshness in a way that still feels masculine – in fact, ladies love this flirtatious fragrance.
Occasion: Floral flirtation | Longevity: 6 hours |
Age group: 20 – 45 | Performance: Moderate |
Season: Year-round | Value for Money: 5/5 |
The light florals are grounded beautifully with cedar and sandalwood and helped along by a healthy dose of vanilla that smells good enough to eat.

There’s a reason Blue Jeans has been around for more than two decades- it’s an impeccably balanced cologne that represents excellent value for money. It will attract attention without aggressively dominating the space.
Blue Jeans tends to last around 6 hours on me, which is plenty for the low price point. It’s enough to carry you through an adventure in the city – and pick up plenty of compliments along the way.
Top Notes: | Citruses, Bergamot, Juniper, Anise and Brazilian Rosewood |
Heart Notes: | Lavender, Jasmine, Geranium, Sage and Lily-of-the-Valley |
Base Notes: | Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Sandalwood, Musk, Amber, Cedar, Vetiver and Patchouli |
Versace Dreamer – Most Relaxing Versace Cologne
Versace Dreamer is a little similar to Blue Jeans in the sense that it emphasizes floral notes, but the effect here is more soothing than it is fresh, This is a comforting blend that lives up to its name – it smells like the feeling you have just before you drift off to sleep.
Occasion: Chilling out and relaxing | Longevity: 6-7 hours |
Age group: 25 – 50 | Performance: Light |
Season: Year-round | Value for Money: 4.5/5 |
It’s the perfect Versace cologne for relaxing with your girlfriend on the sofa. It’s incredibly huggable, and will elevate your “slouching around” to a more sophisticated “rest and recovery”.

It smells of soapy lavender, honeysuckle, and iris, with just a touch of tobacco in the dry down to add a much-appreciated masculine sense. It’s like you’re sitting on a cashmere cloud, surrounded by flowers and someone smokes a pipe in the distance.
With a 6 – 7 hour longevity, spray Dreamer a couple of times in the early evening to enjoy a subtle skin scent to drift off to.
Top Notes: | Juniper, Tarragon and Artemisia |
Heart Notes: | Iris, Honeysuckle and Lavender |
Base Notes: | Tobacco Blossom and Amber |
Versace Pour Homme Dylan Blue – Most Versatile Versace Cologne
Dylan Blue is an aquatic scent that conjures the cool Mediterranean breeze.
Fresh and clean scent with a hint of sweetness and a subtle smokey element.
This versatile and masculine scent collects way more compliments than the price might suggest.
Occasion: Versatile – ideal for rookies | Longevity: 7 hours |
Age group: 18 – 38 | Performance: Moderate |
Season: Year-round | Value for Money: 4.5/5 |
Fig and citrus lead this fresh and clean scent, adding a touch of sweetness to the breezy, clean feeling. On the first spray, Dylan Blue is a little reminiscent of Bleu de Chanel, but it comes into its own after about 30 minutes with soft, sensual patchouli taking the lead.

In the dry down, there’s a streak of incense that lends a darker smokey feeling and adds just enough mystery to the cologne to prevent it from feeling generic.
It’s an excellent option for a versatile scent that covers a lot of bases. Dylan Blue is the perfect blend of casual and serious, and I struggle to think of any situation where it would feel particularly out of place.
With a healthy 7-hour lifetime and at least 3 hours of arms-length projection, the value for money here is pretty undeniable, too.
Top Notes: | Bergamot, Grapefruit and Fig |
Heart Notes: | Ambroxan, Black Pepper, Patchouli, Violet Leaf and Papyrus |
Base Notes: | Incense, Musk, Tonka Bean and Saffron |
Versace Eros Flame – Best Versace Cologne for Seduction
Like Eros, Eros Flame is a really seductive scent that is bound to pick up compliments from girls.
Seductive note profile with an attention grabbing peppery opening.
A compliment-grabbing scent with a warm and cozy dry down.
Occasion: Picking up girls at the bar | Longevity: 8 hours |
Age group: 25 – 40 | Performance: Strong |
Season: Year-round | Value for Money: 4/5 |
But while Eros builds on the fruity sweet opening with vanilla, Flame’s dry down prioritizes aromatic spice in a way that feels slightly more mature. If Eros is a party boy who is all about fun, Eros Flame is the older brother with a little more experience.

It’s for the type of man who is confident but doesn’t feel the need to draw quite as much attention to himself. People come to him, not the other way around. He’s a little less energetic, but a smoother operator.
With this amorous intent in mind, Eros Flame might not be entirely appropriate for a professional setting. However, when on a date, you can expect this Versace cologne to work wonders.
Alongside the standard Eros, Flame is one of the longest-lasting Versace colognes. I can often smell it on me when I wake up the next day, and it kicks out a good amount of fragrance from just a couple of sprays.
Top Notes: | Mandarin Orange, Black Pepper, Lemon and Rosemary |
Heart Notes: | Pepper, Geranium and Rose |
Base Notes: | Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Sandalwood, Cedar, Patchouli and Oakmoss |
Versace Pour Homme – A Commendable Runner-up
Pour Homme is like a year-round version of Eau Fraiche. It takes a similar clean, citrussy vibe and adds a deeper, muskier feel.
Occasion: Another one-size-fits-all | Longevity: 4 -5 |
Age group: 30 – 45 | Performance: Moderate |
Season: Year-round | Value for Money: 3.5/5 |
This elegant fragrance is equally appropriate for dates as it is the office. It’s the neroli and lemon opening is bright and breezy, but there’s more seriousness in the heart. Clary sage adds some herbal masculinity to the heart, before a bucket full of musk blends with amber in the base.

It’s not an aggressive fragrance, but it’s not short on masculinity either. It’s gentlemanly and polite – for the Gent that neglected housewives wish their husbands were.
You’ll get a couple of hours of lemony brightness, followed by 2 – 3 more of an intimate amber/musk skin scent.
Unfortunately, Versace Pour Homme is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, master of none. If you’re looking for something versatile to cover a lot of situations, you’d be better served to go for Dylan Blue, which has better longevity and projection.
Top Notes: | Lemon, Bergamot, Neroli and Rose |
Heart Notes: | Hyacinth, Cedar, Clary Sage and Geranium |
Base Notes: | Tonka Bean, Musk and Amber |
Versace Eau Fraiche – Best Versace Cologne for Summer
Eau Fraiche is an excellent summer fragrance. It’s sweet, citrussy, and bright – perfect for energizing and uplifting on a hot day.
Light and breezy lemon freshness with a woodsy base.
A crisp and clean fragrance for warmer weather.
Occasion: Feeling crisp in high eat | Longevity: 6 hours |
Age group: 20 – 40 | Performance: Light |
Season: Summer | Value for Money: 5/5 |
It’s really versatile cologne that picks up compliments wherever I go. You can wear it on an alfresco date, to the gym, or even to the office. Anywhere that you want to smell crisp and fresh.
The opening is a sparkling mix of lemon and apple, with a more woodsy dry down that adds a touch of masculinity. There are also touches of bergamot and cardamom to thicken out the body.
It’s the sort of scent that suits all ages – and girls seem to really like it, too. While not the most complex scent in the world, Eau Fraiche delivers straightforward sunshine really effectively.
It also performs pretty well for a lighter scent. You’ll get 6 hours of longevity with really good projection for the first 3 – 4. A great effort from a citrus freshie.
Top Notes: | Lemon, Bergamot, Star Fruit, Cardamom and Brazilian Rosewood |
Heart Notes: | Cedar, Tarragon, Sage and Pepper |
Base Notes: | Musk, Woodsy Notes, Saffron, Amber and Sycamore |
Versace Pour Homme Oud Noir – Best Versace Cologne for Winter
Oud Noir is a great introduction to a world of opulent, luxurious woodsiness. This dark fragrance is perfect for winter evenings out and will add a touch of class and mystery to a tailored suit.
Woodsy maturity in a refined Oud fragrance perfect for classy evenings.
Excellent longevity with a 9-hour lifetime.
Occasion: Classy events in a suit | Longevity: 9 hours |
Age group: 30 – 50 | Performance: Strong |
Season: Fall/Winter | Value for Money: 5/5 |
It balances a primal Oud accord with delicate touches of tobacco, saffron, leather, and just a touch of spice. It makes me feel mature and a little dangerous – like I’m a capable, accomplished man in control.
Even after 9 hours, I find myself enjoying wonderful wafts of scent on myself. As a thicker cologne, it naturally stays a little closer to the skin, but it’s still noticeable by those standing close enough to hold a conversation.
If you’re a fan of Tom Ford’s Oud Wood, this is a fragrance that captures that same cleaned-up Western Oud sense for a fraction of the price.

Top Notes: | Black Pepper, Bitter Orange and Neroli |
Heart Notes: | Saffron, Cardamom and Olibanum |
Base Notes: | Agarwood (Oud), Patchouli and Leatherwood |
What To Look for When Choosing a Versace Cologne
How Much does Versace Cologne Cost?
Versace colognes tend to cost between $30 and $150 for a 3.3 fl oz bottle. Some are available in smaller bottles for less – but they will end up costing more per spray, so it pays to buy in bulk.
The cheapest way to get started with Versace colognes is through a 2.5 fl oz bottle of Versace Blue Jeans, which retails for just $25. It’s a classic, relatively complex fragrance with subtle florals and masculine woods. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a budget-friendly way to smell their best.
On the other end of the scale, the most expensive Versace colognes spray-for-spray are the Versace Eros range. Both Eros and Eros Flame retail for between $80 and $100 for a 3.3 fl oz bottle. Still, they’re well worth it if you have the money to spend on something special for date night.
What’s the Longest-Lasting Versace Cologne?
The longest-lasting Versace cologne is Versace Oud Noir Pour Homme. It lasts for up to 9 hours, particularly if you spray a little on your clothes.
It’s an ideal fragrance to carry you through a classy party or event, with a deep and mysterious woodsy scent that’s perfect for masculine sophistication.
