Stronger With You – Best Giorgio Armani Cologne for Winter
For me, Stronger With You is a top-tier winter fragrance. That combination of vanilla and spice is so cozy, that you can’t help but imagine a couple of scotches by a crackling fire.

Reasonably priced for the quality - particularly when you buy a larger bottle.

It’s like a perpetual hug from a beautiful girl in your favorite sweater. Okay, maybe not that far – but I think you get the idea. My GF absolutely loves Stronger With You, and is always noticeably nicer to me when I’m wearing it.
I think this fragrance works best for someone young, or at least young-ish. Somewhere in the range of 20 – 40. It’s not about energy and exuberance, bouncing off the walls. This suits the 35-year-old day-to-day or the 22-year-old who is making a special effort on date night.
And, it certainly works for both of them in the run-up to Christmas, as the cold nights draw in.
This fragrance is comfort in a bottle. Sweet warming notes of cardamom and vanilla rest on top of a woodsy base of cedar and chestnut. It swerves aggressive notes and instead represents refined, gentlemanly masculinity.
I’d bracket Strong With You as a sweet scent, but it’s not overwhelmingly so. There’s lots of vanilla and fruits in the opening that keep things bright, but it’s neatly moderated by warm spices that emerge throughout the lifetime of the fragrance.
The way the cardamom and vanilla combine is wonderfully cozy and comfortable. It feels powdery, teetering on gourmand. It smells more expensive than it is, that much is for sure.
The lighter sweet notes take center stage for the first few hours, before making way for a woodier, nuttier denouement. The projection here is reduced, but it’s a gorgeous, amber-heavy skin scent up close.
In my experience, it packs enough punch to last 8 hours from 3 sprays in the morning.

This is my number one Armani cologne for seduction. Girls absolutely love this sophisticated attention-grabber – I pick up plenty of compliments while wearing it.

The opening offers a bit of brightness from bergamot and lemon, which drifts into a more earthy heart of star anise and sage. It all sits on a classy, masculine base of leather and guaiac wood – with a classy touch of pipe tobacco.
Armani Code would suit crisp days in fall/winter, but is also wearable as an evening fragrance in spring/summer months.
I have been getting 7 hours of longevity, with projection that is noticeable without being overpowering. Probably about 3-4 feet for the same number of hours, depending on humidity and temperature.
It’s one of those colognes that fragrance snobs will look down on. Sure, it’s popular, but for a reason – you’ll pick up compliments wherever you go.

Acqua Di Gio Profumo Eau De Parfum is a continuation of the fresh citrusy aquatic feel of the original, but with a darker, cooler edge. It’s perfect for taking a lady on a walk through the city, out for dinner, and catching a drink at the bar afterward.
Sophisticated and intense fragrance, combining fresh aquatic notes with aromatic and earthy accords for a masculine and elegant scent.

I recommend Acqua di Gio Profumo for Fall/Spring afternoons where there’s a bit of warmth, but it’s not exactly sunny. It’s a little too thick for super high heat – where the original shines.
The addition of herbs (sage and rosemary) and a smokey incense streak lend a contrast that the strictly sunshine original lacks.
Despite these deeper notes, Acqua di Gio Profumo doesn’t seem to last any longer than the original – which is a little disappointing, especially considering it’s marketed as an Eau de Parfum. Within 5 hours, it’s only really the incense that lingers on as a subtle skin scent.

Armani Code Absolu – A Commendable Runner-Up
Like Stronger With You, Code Absolu emphasises vanilla in a fragrance suited for winter. It is by no means bad – but I’d pick Stronger With You over it.

I just feel that the vanilla is better executed in Stronger With You. In Code Absolu it’s a little too sweet and in-your-face, while Stronger with you feels more reserved, refined – and ultimately, classier.
The sweetness settles a little in the heart, rounded out by bitter almond and dry suede. A woodsy base adds a touch of necessary depth, too.
