First Impressions
The standard Gucci Guilty bottle looks like it means business. It’s black, metallic, and alluring, and gives off CEO confidence on sight. I’d liken it to a MacBook Pro. This is a sleek design that implies a modern, clean-cut authority, rather than harking back to history.
My sample vial was a little more humble, but I was still able to get a good sense of the brand messaging. This is all about seeking modernity and minimalism in a world full of clutter and noise.
What Does Gucci Guilty Smell Like?
This aromatic and woody fragrance is fresh, energizing, and professional. It’s packed to bursting with amber, zest lemon, and juniper berries, plus a soapy, mineral freshness that leaves you smelling – well, clean.
I love the aromatic touches of rose and chili that lend a slice of amor to the fragrance. These bursts of warm contrast with the freshness beautifully, constantly pushing a pulling to keep you (and your company) engaged.

The original Gucci Guilty is your baseline offering from the range, so this minimalism is not to be unexpected. This is a tried and tested classic to get a feel for some of Gucci’s signature notes.
If you’re looking for something more unique or divisive, you should explore some of the more off-piste scents in the range, like Gucci Guilty Black, or Gucci Guilty Absolute.

How Long Does Gucci Guilty Last?
The citrusy top notes do fade within a couple of hours, but overall longevity is good- I find I can go a full workday (hours) and still pick up compliments. Parfum Pour Homme is perfect for a crisp day in Spring or Fall and is unlikely to overpower anyone lucky enough to come into contact with you.
Can You Wear Gucci Guilty to Work?
You could definitely get away with it at work, layering it onto a suit in the office to exude professionalism and understated power.
In any case, you’ll only want to use 1-2 sprays, max. The longevity on Gucci Guilty is excellent, and just a spritz will still pump out scent from dawn until dusk.

Is Gucci Guilty Worth it?
In my view, Gucci Guilty certainly justifies its price tag. It’s a great example of a modern, versatile cologne that will boost your confidence and masculine presence. Solid 8/10 for me.
Compared to other Gucci colognes, Gucci Guilty is pretty straightforward. This is ideal for someone in an office or formal environment who wants to keep things clean but could leave the niche fragrance-seekers hungry for more.
Guilty will turn heads, but it’s not breaking much new ground in terms of note combinations. For that, you’ll want something from the more experimental Alchemist’s Garden range.
Where to Buy Gucci Guilty
I’ve used Nordstrom for a couple of years, and they’re my favorite. I enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that everything is taken care off; the product is authentic and will show up when I expect it to, for a fair price.
Gucci Guilty is a crowd-pleasing scent that you’re probably going to love – but in the worst case, Nordstrom offers the most flexible returns policy I’ve come across when buying colognes online.
They’re perfectly happy for you to try your order and send it back if it’s not for you. As long as you haven’t used half the bottle, that is.
Failing that, you can always go through Amazon. They’re probably the most stocked place to buy colognes online, and I love that the reviews for each vendor are public so I know exactly what I’m getting.
Also, Amazon has got shipping down to a fine art. If you order a cologne available with Prime delivery on a Thursday, there’s a good chance it will be in your hands by the weekend. It’s that rapid.

Gucci Guilty Black is similar to the original, but a little more grown-up. It’s seductive and sexy, with a woody muskiness that feels pretty Alpha.

It’s the sort of scent that implies you are in control of the situation, no matter what life may throw at you.
I would suggest this versatile could be worn year-round, but it’s probably best suited to the long winter nights.
However, keep in mind that the longevity is not quite as strong here. You’ll get a decent projection for 4/5 hours before Gucci Guilty Black tapers off into skin scent territory.

This rugged fragrance is built on a base of masculine cedarwood and vetiver. It’s lightly smoked, and lacking any kind of sweetness. The USP comes in the form of a distinct minty herbal note that’s a little medicinal smelling. Perfectly pleasant, but pretty striking nonetheless.
This is the sort of fragrance that makes an entrance. Absolute will last you all day and is pretty intense for the first 2 – 3 hours at least.
You’re going to be drawing attention, so probably best to give it a miss if you’re visiting the in-laws, for example.
